Get-Together with Dr. Ingval Maxwell on 02nd March 2005
|
The get-together cum interaction with Dr. INGVAL
MAXWELL, Chairman of the Charles Wallace India Trust
from British and members of Intach, Heritage Cell and
faculty members of School of Planning, JNTU was held
on 02-Mar-2005 at 4 P.M. at School of Planning, JNTU.
Mr. Ingval spoke on the activities of the trust both
in India and U.K. over many years in terms of
improving the knowledge and skills in conservation
which are every critical for successful implementation
of Conservation projects. He stressed on the necessity
of improving technology related to traditional
material and techniques. He also advocated the need
to involve engineers, artists, surveyors and
archaeologists apart from architects in conservation
efforts. |

Mr. Veda Kumar, Convenor of Heritage Cell handed over
the 4th Annual number of Forum for a Better
Hyderabad to Dr. Ingval Maxwell. He and Mr. Shravan
Kumar informed the participants that, Intach and
Heritage Cell putting all its efforts to educate the
school children and teachers about the importance of
Heritage precincts and monuments and to save them. In
this direction Heritage Club formation initiated a
couple of years ago. Mr. Rajmani, Member, Forum for a
Better Hyderabad raised a point about making of a
qualitative construction material apart from cement
and lime mortor to have an endurable
constructions. In reply Dr. Maxwell suggested for a
seminar to discuss on various accepts to get a
solution. |

Mr. Umapathi, Member of Heritage Conservation
Committee, expressed about a common man’s
contribution towards the Heritage Conservation. The
interactive session came to an end with the vote of
thanks proposed by Dr.P.Padmavathi,

twin cities on the topic “HERITAGE AWARENESS” and “SETTING
OF HERITAGE CLUBS” on 25th Feb, 2004 at Rahat Mahal,
Princess Esin Women’s Educational Centre, Purani Haveli.
